Ciccio Cielo Mare Terra will surprise you… continuously… and in many ways.
It is one of the oldest restaurants on the Amalfi Coast – it’s there since 1911 – run by the same family since four generations.
The restaurant is located 5 minutes away from the town centre of Amalfi by car.
Giuseppe, Antonio, Marco and Stefano do a great job managing the restaurant, their father Francesco (Ciccio) works in his farm, growing vegetables, herbs and fruits that brings to the restaurant everyday, while their mother Marinella prepares excellent desserts.
Ciccio Cielo Mare Terra offers a complete food experience, where tradition and innovation merge to create excellence, completed by their hospitality and gentleness.
Stefano will welcome you with a warm smile and lead you to your table (make sure you have a reservation).
The menu will be presented by his brother Antonio, with a detailed description of the dishes, ingredients and all the options.
Then comes Giuseppe, the sommelier, who helps choosing and pairing the wines from his complete list, while Marco is in the kitchen preparing your meal.
Trust Antonio when he suggests to relax on the lounge by the terrace while taking look at the menu.
That terrace, overlooking the Amalfi Coast, will be hard to leave after your meal.
Ciccio Cielo Mare Terra – The menu
Having been at Ciccio Cielo Mare Terra many times, I have to admit that choosing what to eat is really a hard choice!
I absolutely love the Zucchini flower filled with local cheese selection, sweet pepper cream and homemade crispy sourdough bread… a great way to start your meal.

First courses
I’m not able to choose my favorite dish, and most of the times I let Marco (the chef) decide, as I am always sure I will be happy with it.
If it’s your first time at Ciccio Cielo Mare Terra, you have to try their famous “spaghetti al cartoccio” (spaghetti in parchment paper), their signature dish.
The flavours in this dish are extraordinary: clams, olives, capers and tomatoes.
This is a unique dish, you’ll find it only at Ciccio Cielo Mare Terra.
Also it is so nice seeing Antonio opening the parchment paper while you are perfused by the nice smell of what you’re going to eat.

The other dishes are so special as well. And each one has something to tell about the tradition and the local culture, even if prepared with a personal touch of innovation by Marco.
For example the thin spaghetti with colatura di alici (anchovy extract), olives in oil, fresh cherry tomatoes and organic cedar put together one of the symbols of the Amalfi Coast (Colatura di Alici), with flavours from the mediterranean area (cherry tomatoes and cedar).
The result is delicious, and the presentation is like a painting.
I also loved the homemade cavatelli with lemon flavoured mashed potatoes, seafood, cherry tomato and fried parsley… so yummy!

- Paccheri stuffed with ricotta cheese, served with tomato sauce and eggplant
- Paccheri with basil pesto Amalfi style, raw shrimp and burrata cheese
Second Courses
Leave some room for a second course and prepare yourself for new awesome flavours.
From a “simple” frittura (mixed fried fish) to the anchovy pie with escarole from the farm in marinara style, mozzarella fondue and confit tomato, passing by the seared squid with potato cream and fresh vegetables from the farm and other masterpieces, the choice is big and you will love everything.
- Mixed fried fish
- Seared squid with potato cream and fresh vegetables from the organic farm
- Fresh local fish fillet with saffron vegetables from the garden
Dessert
How not to mention the memorable desserts that Mrs. Marinella prepares.
There’s no better way to end your meal at Ciccio Cielo Mare Terra than having one of their special desserts and some limoncello.
Lemon cream poufs with mulberry jam from the farm will blow your mind! Try also Ricotta e Pera (ricotta and pear cake), you will love it.
